I'm fascinated by women. Fascinated by their strength, insecurity, energy, femininity, spirituality, drive and of course anatomy and sensuality and I do my very best to photograph women like I see them. Nude women that is.
If you follow me on Instagram you know this but if not you will understand when you see this project. For the last couple of years, I have been traveling around the deserts of the Colorado plateau, with 3 professional nude models for 2 weeks at a time. The goal was to make this book with a collection state of the art fine-art nude images. The deserts of Nevada, Utah, Arizona, and New Mexico are magic and harsh but also serene places. Color and scenery are incomparable in beauty to anywhere else I have seen. Red, white, blue, and black rock. Elaborate slot canyons, sand dunes, and rock formations that look like monsters ever-changing with the movement of light.
I'm not a landscape photographer though. I photograph nude women with a focus on empowerment and fragility in an often sculptural portrayal of women. in this book I juxtapose three of the best professional Art nude models I know of, Roarie Yum, Sekaa Chavez, and Willa Prescott in these incredible locations. And create something I believe elevates both the locations and the women to something more than just the sum of each. I sometimes use the environment as allegories, sometimes as an echo chamber, and occasionally as a pathway to describe evolution. The resulting images from these trips are amazing and you will find the very best of them in this book.
But don't just take my word for it. The cover image has just won a Gold award in the Graphis 5 nude competition, and another image won the grand prize in the Nude Photoshoot awards 2018, there are other award-winning images in there too. The majority of these images have never been seen by the public before though, they were created to be seen in the most beautiful way I could think of displaying them, in this book.
