Dopamine Driven Art
Dopamine Driven Art
First Edition – Fine Art Nude Photography by Thomas Holm
Some books are meant to be glanced at.
This one is meant to be felt.
Dopamine Driven Art is more than a collection of photographs.
It is a study of what makes us look, what holds our attention, and what stirs something wordless inside.

For over a decade, photographer Thomas Holm has explored the fine line between beauty and emotion, between the moment you see and the moment you feel.
Here, his signature art-nude photography is paired with a rare glimpse into the creative mind itself: how focus, anticipation, and the brain’s dopamine system shape the images we create and the images that stay with us.

This 192-page volume brings together more than 120 artworks, photographed in volcanic deserts, bare studios, and quiet Scandinavian light.
Each image is riveting, unhurried, and charged with presence.
The accompanying essays reveal a deep curiosity about what art actually does to us, why certain pictures compel us to return again and again.
Printed as a Swiss-bound soft-touch hardcover book, Dopamine Driven Art opens flat, inviting slow, tactile reading.
The pages are 150 g Gallery Art paper, smooth yet weighty, giving every photograph a luminous depth.
This is the First Edition, created in limited numbers, and once it’s gone, it will not be reprinted in this form.
Originally funded via Kickstarter, where it reached DKK 191,685 (≈ USD 27,500) from collectors and art enthusiasts around the world, the book now returns in a direct release, available here while stock lasts.
If you believe that art should touch both the eye and the mind, this book belongs in your hands and on your shelf.
Order your copy today and experience how curiosity, chemistry, and the human form come together on the printed page.

Thomas has created a unique experience that has elements of a beautiful coffee table book, reflections on the creative side of photography, and a vulnerability about his personal journey and self-help. It is an impactful read for everyone, but particularly for those, like myself, who suffer from ADHD.
This book delivers powerful, compelling photography surrounded by words that all creatives need to read. It will open your eyes to the importance of creating personal work and managing yourself through the process.
Highly recommended!

Dopamine Driven Art by Thomas Holm is more than a collection of photographic art—it’s an exploration into the impulses and inspirations that drive his creative journey. Holm reveals how dopamine fuels his artistic process, guiding him through moments of discovery and expression.
What has always stood out to me in Holm’s work is his mastery of light, texture, and atmosphere. His imagery feels both precise and organic, as though each frame captures something inevitable rather than staged. The models he works with embody this perfectly, falling into poses that seem effortless yet deeply evocative.
This book isn’t just a showcase of photography; it’s an invitation into the mind of an artist who shapes raw emotion into striking visual form.

In this beautiful, inspiring, and biographical book, Holm begins with his fascinating exploration of the science behind creativity and flow state, reveals the elements that make an image engaging, and introduces us to the recurring themes in his work.
These insights are superbly illustrated by the 126 images at the center of this book, making for a magnificent showcase of a true master. If you love fine art nudes, as a creator or a fan, you will love this book.

I have admired Thomas Holm's art for quite some time. His work is an exemplar of the fine art nude genre of photography, and this new book, Dopamine Driven Art, is a perfect example of that. The book explores the artist's insatiable need to create, and what Thomas has created here is truly something special.

What I love about the book is that it gives a real insight into yourself as a human being, as well as how you go about creating and taking images.
I found the honesty about Thomas’s diagnosis and the detail of how he has worked through this to emerge from the darkness and continue to create some incredible images in both the book and his life to be very thought-provoking.
The detailed explanation of the process Thomas uses in creating great images, as well as the guidance that may help both the known and undiagnosed ADHD audience, will resonate with many people.

With Dopamine Driven Art, Thomas has truly outdone himself.
This is not only another outstanding art book, but also an ambitious exploration of one of the most fundamental questions of human culture: Why art? Thomas tackles this timeless question with remarkable depth, insight, and visual brilliance, and he does not disappoint.
Dopamine Driven Art is a photographic essay, a philosophical reflection, and a celebration of creativity itself. It’s a book that resonates beyond the art world, inviting every reader to reflect on the role of beauty, inspiration, and desire in our lives.

The photography, of course, is a Wow. Gorgeous, elegant, and sensual. He’s the master. However, the concept of the book is truly fascinating – how dopamine has the power to ignite the creative spark, leading to unforgettable work. And how a few simple lifestyle changes can turn lethargy into productivity. Who knew!

Thomas Holm has produced another masterpiece, “Dopamine Driven Art.”
This book contains 160 pages of his finest photos. In the accompanying text, he defines the creative process. It involves neurochemistry, especially dopamine, and personal ambition, i.e., passion and perseverance. Importantly, he charts a course that anyone can follow to bring their artistic vision to life. Thus, “Dopamine Driven Art” becomes an invaluable guide for the artist and spectator alike.

Thomas’ previous books, The Graces and Venus On Mars, are both cherished additions to my photo book collection, and I consider the images contained in them to be amongst the best examples of contemporary artistic nude imagery.
So, when it comes to his latest book, Dopamine-Driven Art, the images didn’t disappoint and are of extremely high caliber that I now expect Thomas to produce.
What I appreciated just as much as the pictures was the unabashed insight into what drives Thomas to create. Not just from a surface level, but from a chemical level.
His explanation of brain chemistry and how it affects creativity in all of us is fascinating and may just have you analysing your own creative processes.
I can certainly relate to a lot of what Thomas describes in my own process and desire to create. I’m sure you will, too.

“Dopamine Driven Art” is a powerful exploration of creativity and connection through the nude form. The images feel both raw and elevated, carrying the weight of honesty that Thomas speaks of in his text.
As an artist myself, I deeply relate to his description of creation as a necessity rather than a pastime - of using photography to process and make sense of the world. That intimacy and presence he describes comes through clearly in the work, making it not just seen, but felt.

Once again, Thomas delivers beautiful art-nude photographs!
Only this time, he delves even deeper into what makes him tick as an artist. He describes not only his own motivation, but a scientifically accurate description of the neuroscience behind motivation in general.
This book is a wonderful experience for those seeking to enjoy the female form in Nature while also exploring the nature of their own desires.
