Lanzarote Art Nude Photography Workshop

It is easy to fill memory cards during the warm spring in Lanzarote.

The greater opportunity is to spend five days learning how to see more clearly, direct models with greater confidence, make better use of natural light, and create photographs that unmistakably feel like yours.

Join Thomas Holm and four exceptional art nude models for five intensive, inspiring, and thoroughly enjoyable days in the volcanic landscapes of Lanzarote.

This is not a production line where photographers take turns making the same photograph.

It is a small-group workshop designed to help you develop your own ideas, solve visual riddles, and improve from one day to the next.

You will photograph. Review. Adjust. Experiment.
And then have a chance to do everything better the day after.

But photography is only part of the experience.

We will have lunch and dinner together, explore parts of the island, exchange ideas, and spend five days among people who share an enthusiasm or even kinship that can be difficult to explain to anyone outside photography.

You may arrive knowing nobody.
You are unlikely to leave that way.

With four models and a maximum of eight photographers, the workshop offers a 2:1 photographer-to-model ratio and plenty of meaningful shooting time.

Five days that build on each other

We meet at the workshop villa before lunch on April 26.
After introductions, orientation, and lunch, we'll talk photography, get to the core of what YOU like, and make a plan to achieve it.

Over the following days, our schedule will follow the light rather than the clock.

Most mornings will begin early. 

Evening sessions will take advantage of the softer light before we return to the villa or visit a local restaurant for dinner.

Midday gives us time for lunch, sightseeing, siesta, image review, feedback, and perhaps a dip in the pool.

The precise schedule and locations may change according to light, weather, wind, tides, and safety. 
That flexibility is one of the workshop’s strengths. We choose the setting that gives us the best photographic possibilities at that moment.

A workshop that becomes a group

Five days gives us time to become more than a collection of photographers sharing a schedule.

We'll eat lunch and dinner together, travel to locations together, look at photographs, solve problems, tell stories, and gradually get to know one another. 
Models and photographers all share the experience rather than disappearing into separate groups at the end of each session.

This creates a relaxed atmosphere in which it becomes easier to experiment, ask questions, exchange honest feedback, and try ideas that might initially feel uncertain.

Many photographers who attend these workshops return again and again. 
They return for the locations, the models, and the opportunity to continue developing their photography.
But they also return because of the atmosphere and the people they meet.

Photography, and art-nude in particular, can be a solitary pursuit.
This workshop is an opportunity to spend five days with both photographers and models who understand why it matters so much to you.

New friendships may not be listed on the equipment sheet. Nevertheless, that is one of the things participants often bring home.

The island is our location

Lanzarote offers an extraordinary range of visual environments within a relatively small area:

• Black volcanic beaches

• Lava fields and lava tubes

• Slot canyons and sculptural rock formations

• Sea caves and rocky coastlines

• White architecture against dark volcanic terrain

• Desert landscapes, unusual textures, and open skies

• The villa, pool, gardens, and nearby coastal locations

The locations have already been researched for their photographic potential. You do not need to organize models, scout the island, investigate access, or work out the logistics.
You can concentrate on making photographs.

Public nudity is permitted in parts of Lanzarote, subject to local limitations and consideration for other people. This gives us access to photographic possibilities that would be difficult to arrange in many other locations.

And right outside the workshop base is an entire nudist village you cn use as a location.

Much more than locations and photoshoots

Lanzarote is visually fascinating even when there is no model in front of the camera.

When the schedule, weather, and light allow, we will also explore some of what makes the island distinctive.
This may include a visit to a local vineyard, Tapas bar, César Manrique’s remarkable architecture, volcanic landmarks, or other places worth experiencing while we are there.

These excursions are not simply gaps between photoshoots. They give us time to talk, absorb new visual influences, understand more of the island, and enjoy being somewhere very different from home.

The purpose is not to rush through five days with a camera permanently pressed to your eye. It is to return creatively refreshed, with memorable photographs and the feeling that you have genuinely experienced Lanzarote.

What you will work on

Stronger composition

Learn to recognize the visual structure of a location and place the model within it with both purpose and poise.

We'll work with balance, direction, visual tension, emotion, and work toward a formula for how to consistently create great images. And we'll work a lot with the relationship between the body and its surroundings.

The objective is not simply to make some attractive pictures.
It is to create work that holds the viewer’s attention and gets noticed.

Natural light

You will learn to read available light and decide when to use it, modify it, or move away from it.

We will work with soft light, direct sunlight, shadow, reflected light, backlight, and the rapidly changing light around sunrise and sunset.

Working with models

Directing a professional model is much more than asking for a pose.

You will develop greater confidence in communicating an idea, recognizing what works, making precise adjustments, and allowing the model’s own creativity to contribute to the result.

Our models can work independently and respond to detailed direction. They can also help you understand how your communication affects the photographs you make.

Developing your own visual language

It is easy to reproduce photographs you have already seen.

It is more rewarding to discover what attracts your attention, why it matters to you, and how that can become part of a recognizable photographic style.

Throughout the workshop, Thomas will help you identify the strongest qualities in your work and find practical ways to develop them further.

Learning while you are still shooting

The multi-day format makes a considerable difference.

Instead of receiving feedback after the workshop is over, you can review your work, apply what you have learned, and test a better solution the following day.

Small improvements compound quickly when you have five days to work with them.

Four very different models

Our models for this workshop are:

• Lia Pironi (Italy)

• Wiana Model (Iceland/Denmark)

• Krisotwitz (Denmark)

• The Endless Sinner (Sweden/Switzerland)

Each brings a different presence, physical vocabulary, personality, and way of responding to and working in a location.

They are all experienced, enigmatic, creative collaborators who can work independently while also taking precise direction.
This variety gives you the opportunity to adapt your approach instead of repeating the same formula with every model. And they are FUN to both work with and hang out with.

All photography takes place in a professional and respectful environment. Model boundaries are absolute. Tasteful erotic work may be possible when it is appropriate, and everyone involved is comfortable with the idea.

Room to work, and guidance when you want it.

Your time with the model remains yours. My role is not to take over your shoot or interrupt the connection and momentum you are building.

I work gently and respectfully, observing what is happening and checking whether you would like my input before offering it. Often, it is simply a small nudge toward something I have noticed in the light, composition, gesture, or background. These observations can create an immediate aha moment and improve the photograph without breaking your flow with the model.

That same relaxed spirit continues over our shared lunches and dinners. They give us time to exchange ideas, talk about one another’s work, get to know the group, and enjoy Lanzarote together.

The aim is for you to return home with stronger photographs, new ways of seeing, and an experience you have thoroughly enjoyed.

The workshop base

Our base is a spacious villa in Charco del Palo with a heated pool and a variety of indoor and outdoor areas that can also be used for photography.

The rocky coastline beside the villa provides additional locations, including a water cave and several areas that respond beautifully to changing light and tides.

All workshop trips begin from the villa.

Charco del Palo is a quiet, clothing-optional village. Staying there does not require you to be nude, and clothing is welcome throughout the village. Restaurants and the supermarket are clothed areas.

We recommend booking accommodation in Charco del Palo so you can walk to the workshop base. Accommodation is very reasonably priced when reserved early, and if you want to share accommodation with other participants, I'll put you in touch in advance.

Travel

Lanzarote Airport is identified by the airport code ACE, and it has many connections from Madrid, Barcelona, etc.

We recommend arriving the day before, on April 25, so you can settle in and begin the workshop rested. The easiest ways to reach Charco del Palo are by taxi or rental car, but a shuttle service is also possible.

Car rental is generally affordable, and the island’s main roads are well maintained. A private WhatsApp group will be created before the workshop to help participants coordinate arrival details and possible carpooling or shared accommodation.

Who can participate?

The workshop welcomes photographers at different levels.

You do not need the newest camera or an extensive collection of lenses or a lot of experience. You should have a camera that can be operated manually and a reasonable understanding of its basic controls.

A standard zoom in the 24-70mm range will cover most situations.

Bringing a laptop is recommended so you can review and organize your photographs during the workshop, especially if you want periodic critique and advice from Thomas.

Experienced photographers who prefer to work independently will have the freedom to do so, and others who want more guidance will receive practical help adapted to their needs.

You should also:

• Be genuinely interested (not necessarily experienced) in art nude photography

• Treat models and other participants with respect

• Be willing to experiment and receive constructive feedback

• Contribute to a relaxed and supportive atmosphere

Price and payment

The complete workshop price is DKK 19,500.

A DKK 4,500 deposit is paid through Shopify when you reserve your place.

The remaining DKK 15,000 is paid through Stripe payment links in three installments (you'll receive these via Email a week or so before they're due):

• DKK 5,000 in November/December 2026 or January 2027

• DKK 5,000 in February 2027

• DKK 5,000 in March 2027

If you prefer to pay the remaining DKK 15,000 in one installment, that can also be arranged.

NB: The Canary Islands are a VAT-exempt zone in the EU, so no VAT is charged on the workshop.

You could visit Lanzarote and return with beautiful photographs.

Or you could spend five days learning to make stronger decisions, communicate more confidently, recognize better light, and create images that carry more of your own voice.

Along the way, you will share meals, conversations, discoveries, and experiences with a small group of people who care about photography as much as you do.
